Evaluation of the Health Impacts
of Universal Credit
This is a large scale national evaluation of the impacts of Universal Credit on people's health and wellbeing. It's a 5-year long study (we are now in Year 3) and is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. You can read our recent evidence submission to the work and pensions select committee inquiry on the levels of UK benefits here. You can also read here about how we have involved professionals and members of the public in shaping this research.

This research aimed to understand the impact of the roll-out of Universal Credit (UC) from the perspectives of people on UC and staff supporting them in North East England. This project led to our collaboration with Cap-a-pie Theatre Company and the play 'CREDIT'.
